our Founding
Alpha Sigma Phi was initially founded as Zeta Omicron Fraternity at Toledo University in December 1921. In 1924, Zeta Omicron became the Gamma Chapter of Sigma Delta Rho. When Sigma Delta Rho dissolved in 1935, being left without a name, the remaining brothers petitioned for a charter to join Alpha Kappa Pi and were chartered as the Alpha Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Pi in March 1937. Upon the national merger of Alpha Kappa Pi and Alpha Sigma Phi in 1946, the chapter designation changed to the Beta Rho Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi.
